After having suspended all immigration programs due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Canada has finally resumed all-program Express Entry draws and has now begun issuing invitations to apply for Federal skilled Worker Programme (FSWP) candidates. Since 4th March the draw has issued about 3900 ITAs for PR and the candidates are required a CRS score of at least 478 to be invited for the July 8 invitation round.
Ever since the labelling of the coronavirus as a pandemic, many travel restrictions were introduced by Canada in order to prevent its spread, the Express Entry draws have been limited to PNP and CEC candidates, which meant that the Federal skilled Worker Programme or FSTP candidates were left hanging.
Owing to the fact that most of the CEC candidates are already now in Canada, they, therefore, have not been affected by the travel bans, talking about PNP candidates, they continue to be invited so has the provinces can meet the labour market needs. However, it is important to acknowledge that when Canada was excluding FSWP and FSTP candidates, there were candidates from CEC and PNP who were invited in the previous draws but were outside of Canada. The draw that is being announced today on July 8th, is going to be the same size as the draw that was announced on 4th March 2020, that is 3900 ITAs
This draw is the 22nd draw of 2020, which means the total number of ITAs that are being issued this year is 53,800, which in itself is a new record.

The minimum CRS score for today's draw was 478, making it 7 points higher than the previous invitation draw on March 4 where the cut-off score was 471. The higher CR is cut off is now function of FSWP candidates for once again securing the ITAs. Given that, the length of time that has passed since the last draw for FSWP candidates, the higher CRS scores for the ITAs means that the candidates would have been invited in earlier months had the pandemic not affected the Express Entry policies of IRCC.

Using a tiebreak rule for today's draw, IRCC has decided that all the candidates who had a Ciara score above 478 or at 478 and enter their profile in the express entry pool before the selected date and time which is February 11, will now receive an ITA for this invitation round.
