Students from India continue to flock to Canada in large numbers. While outstanding academic performance is still required for admission to Canada’s Top Universities, a Study Permit validates authorization to study.
You’ll Need the Following Documents
Get a student visa once you’ve been accepted to an institution. If you want to enrol in the September semester, start working on your visa application in June. To apply for a student visa to study in Canada, you’ll need the following paperwork.
1 Passport that’s Up to Date and Valid
Study Permit applications may only be made with a current, valid passport. According to the Canadian High Commission, you must have a passport with a validity date of at least as long as your planned stay in Canada.
2 Proof of Acceptance by a Designated Learning Institution
A letter of acceptance from the college or institution where you want to enrol is required for admission. The immigration department recognises such universities as Designated Learning Institutes (DLIs).
3 Evidence of Funds
The current requirements require you to demonstrate that you will be able to pay your tuition costs as well as cover your living expenses while you are a student.
4 English Language Proficiency Exam Score
You should take your English Proficiency Test and get a passing score before beginning the visa application process. As it stands, you would have been required to confirm your acceptance to the university in Canada by submitting your English language competence score such as from the IELTS, TOEFL and other exams are all suitable substitutes for the GMAT.
You’ll have to provide evidence of finances when applying for your Study Permit.

When registering for a Canadian Student Visa, you must submit an essay explaining why you are visiting Canada and why you have selected this specific school. This will be requested as an additional document in the checklist, however, we highly advise you to provide it.
- Immigration Medical Examination (IME)
- Passport Size Photographs
- Birth and Leaving Certificate
- Bachelor’s Mark sheet, Degree Certificate/Provisional Certificate and Transcript if required

- Marksheets for the 10th and 12th grades,
